Do NOT UPDATE your 3DS to the latest FW!

#1RocketomyPosted 3/25/2013 10:23:31 PM
The latest firmware might cause serious errors. Lots of people, including myself, are left with unfinished installations, which means that we can't even access the eShop or System Settings. This just happened today and there's no way of telling where/how it will happen. Best to wait it out until Nintendo rolls out another firmware/fix. More info here:

Many of us are contacting Nintendo to see what we can do about our 3DS'. Hopefully we won't have to send them in but it looks like it :/

It does not happen with all systems, but know that you are running yourself a real risk by updating. Thankfully, consider yourselves lucky.

For those players who don't speak Australian, we have provided an English translation of the previous scene. Do you want to replay the scene?

Ran across this problem myself all because I wanted to browse on the Nintendo eShop.

Have a 1 month old Nintendo 3DS XL (Blue) and it just simply refuses to go eshop or system settings. Fantastic. I had plugged up and everything, downloaded roughly 50-60% of the download, then an error message occured. Upon getting the message, the system itself told me to hold down the power button until the system was off and turn it back on.

Upon turning it back on it took the system 10 seconds longer than usual to boot up to the main menu, and now system simply can't access eshop or system settings.

Game Cartridges work just fun, so do downloaded demoes and games...

And I was looking forward to Harmo Knight :/
