So I recently just got a 3ds and have read about both the dragon quest and final fantasy series. I think I would really like them. Which games should I look to pick up for the ds and 3ds?

FF 3, FF 4, FF 4 Heroes of Light
DQ4, DQ5, DQ6, DQ9

Basically most of them, they're worth it.

Thank you. If I were to buy one of those from each series to start, which two should I get? Like what order should I buy all of those games in?

Final Fantasy IV and Dragon Quest IX are good starting points.

4 Heroes of Light and DQIX.

FFIII is by far the best game out of any of those, but it's hard to recommend the DS version when there's a much better PSP version (and NES version, for that matter) out there.

For those players who don't speak Australian, we have provided an English translation of the previous scene. Do you want to replay the scene?

IMO this version of FF4 might be a little hard for a newcomer. I personnally loved it though.

do NOT start witth IV. it is ridiculously hard and the battle system is extremely structured and allows little room for error and little freedom.(especially blatant later on) go with III, not only does the job system allow for a lot of customisation, it makes battles more interesting. its still pretty hard, and has no plot, but i find it a lot better than IV due to the better battle system.

DO NOT start FF 3 or FF4 DS as you first FF games.

FF games 1-3 are super hard for beginners.

play FF 4 the psp or gba version.
then play FF 5 the gba or ps1 version on psn.

then play FF 6 then ff7 then ff 9 then ff10

only then go back to play the much harder ones.

FF3 ds requires a ton of grinding and the final dungeon has no savepoints and is very big and takes a long time to complete.
