Ok.
1) I love Star Fox 64. I have it on my Wii as well. Is it upgraded anyway besides the 3D?

2) I like old Super Mario games (1-3, World) but I do not like the DS one (1st?) or the Wii one. Felt too sluggish. Is this better?

Based on what you've said, you'd probably want Star Fox. It didn't really add much, but it does have much better visuals, and an improved multiplayer mode (though it's local-only.)

3D Land is basically a 3D version of NSMB. It's 3D, but it plays in short stages like the 2D Mario games. A fun game, but it certainly doesn't have the charm that SMB3/World had.

For those players who don't speak Australian, we have provided an English translation of the previous scene. Do you want to replay the scene?

You should go for SM3DL because it's at least a new game to try out. SF64 will be the same thing you've played before.

I know. It kills me :\

But thank you all. I think I'll just get Super Mario, I suppose. I already own Star Fox and I can just get it for 20 bucks or whatever later.

As much as I love SF64, and I chose it for my freebie, I'd say Mario. I owned that already and thought it was great. Pickup SF64 3DS later when it eventually drops.

SM3DL. Star Fox 64 is extremely short (my brother-in-law beat it in a few hours).

If you've never played it, DEFINITELY get Super Mario 3D Land. It is a great game, avid arguably the best buy far out the five options Nintendo is offering. Star Fox 64, while an excellent remake, it's still a remake. Easy decision.

Go with Starfox. 3DS Mario is feels like NSMB 1.5 it just has a few new features from its predecessor. I mean why even ask? You basically answered your own question.
