Why is the Save Data Transfer Tool one-way?

No, because my computer doesn't have an SD card slot.

So then, has anyone tried a tiny modification, just to see what happens? Having made a backup first, of course?

Do you have a digital camera?

I've made backups and edited my save files from my retail catridges, but the restoration function didn't work properly. (This was back in Feb-Apr 2011 though, maybe things have changed since then.)

Stick the SD card in the camera, connect that to your PC via cable and you're good to go.

Or find a usb card reader for like $2

I'm willing to bet any amount of money that, the instant that Nintendo releases a SD --> Card save data transfer tool, homebrew exploits will be immediately implemented right afterwards, and that's... not good for business, I'd say...

And why would this be possible with card games but not digital games?
