Any chance for Koei's NES strategy games on 3DS shop?

The NES had my 3 all time favorite strategy games. Gemfire, Romance of Three Kingdoms 2 and Uncharted Waters. I also liked L'Empereur I never played their American Revolution game though. Any chance we will see them in eshop? I never understood how Gemfire never got a sequel.

It's possible - at least for Romance and maybe Uncharted Waters (I'll admit that I forgot UW got an NES release myself). PSN got a few of the PS1/2 Romance and Nobunaga games and Wii VC at least got UW: New Horizons.

Koei usually only remembers Romance and Nobunaga when it comes to their old strategy games - sometimes they remember Uncharted Waters but it usually gets a short shrift as well, but with the MMO getting more exposure on Steam maybe they'll re-release some of the old UW games.

Well to me the best of the KOEI strategy games that so needs to be sent to eshop along with a sequel is Gemfire. Totally fun and very much like a very good prototype for Ogre Battle for the SNES. In terms of battles.

Anyone else recall Gemfire as being a great strategy game.

Unless there's another Koei title that I'm not aware of, I believe you're thinking of North and South, which is a Kemco game.

Anyway, Koei's best titles are clearly Uncharted Waters and Aerobiz. The old RotK titles are really much too complex for their own good.

He's probably talking about Liberty or Death (http://www.gamefaqs.com/snes/588443-liberty-or-death) which does take place during the American Revolution. (North and South takes place during the American Civil War)

It was Liberty or Death. I thought it was NES but it was on SNES. I actually loved the complexity of the NES Romance games the second is still my favorite. Gemfire though is very newbie friendly.
