Apparently Nintendo is publishing Bravely Default

Same happened with some recent Dragon Quest games. How the hell do SE think these games won't sell? Or can they just not afford it after Versus and their first attempt at XIV?

Is SE doing Europe and Nintendo doing NA or something? Seems to be conflicting info.

Well I'm going by what Reggie said in the NA one. He said Square Enix is publishing it. He never mentioned Nintendo is doing anything with it.

Hopefully they'll assist with DQVII and Terry's Wonderland as well.

He said that Nintendo is helping Square-Enix publish it here, which means Nintendo's footing the bill, and it's their name that will appear on the cover.

Because Square Enix is in some financial trouble due to Tomb Raider having way to big of a budget (its that stupid multiplayer thats costed them profit from an otherwise great game), Sleeping dogs underperforming (again, big budget kept it from being profitable), and there was another title that underperformed recently by them.

In other words, Nintendo wanted to secure another rpg game for the Americas/Europe, because theyre starting to understand the need for them (in addition to good third party games) in non-japanese markets. Enix likely didn't want to worry about localization costs, so Nintendo is doing what they did with DQ on DS. You'll likely get a club nintendo code in BDFF when it comes to the states, just like you could register every DQ.
