L+R+Y toggles the green screen and ghosting effect for Gameboy games

I think it's in the Manual on the bottom left of the touchscreen

Hold Start when booting a Game Boy game to display it at it's native resolution with a Game Boy frame, and you can also activate 3D to add the effect that the screen is receded in the Game Boy.

The green screen has been known since the VC came out. I forgot where it was first mentioned, though I believe that the digital manuals mention it also.

IIRC there was also mention of the GB power light flashing when your battery is low. (My battery is rarely low so I haven't seen in personally.)

It was mentioned in an Iwata Asks or something

edit: Yeah, it says so in the manual.

Low refresh rate. Causes a blurry "ghosty" effect when things move on screen.
