Do you guys keep cloth between the screens?

No, and no.

I do notice that my buttons (circle pad and face buttons) touch the top screen, though. So a cloth isn't a bad idea.

I've heard that the top screen does get scratched from a couple of people. I just use a screen protector, haven't had any scratches yet.

How has Nintendo not solved this yet. After about two months of not using my launch 3DS, I opened it up to play the new Fire Emblem...and found permanent lines on both sides of my screen. Now Nintendo wants 85 dollars to repair it.

That sounds awful. Hearing stuff like that makes me really paranoid.

My DSi died last month, still have the warrant so contacted Nintendo to be sent for repairs. Got it repaired in a week and sent back to me. Nintendo covered all the postage fees and even extend the warranty to a new 12 months. I don't think Sony will do the same thing for my Vita though, since their customer service is crappy
