PS Vita or 3DS? Please help! I plan to get one in the next few hours!

Don't get anything until you are certain that there are enough games you want.

If you can't count at least 3 that you want on a console, there's no point buying it.

And last I heard that the PS Vita will be able to play PS3/4 games?

loool

There are a handful of PS3 games that have been specifically ported to the VIta. It isn't compatible with actual PS3 games, much less PS4.

Which system has the most games you think you would like to play? Which one has a library you most PERSONALLY enjoy playing? Use the answers to those questions to decide.

The only game on the 3DS that appeals to me is Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate. That and only that.

My friend IRL told me Vita is a better investment because it has superior hardware and better games will come out for it in the future?

I looked at Vita's library and the only game that appeals to me now is Soul Sacrifice and that is only in Japanese.

Soul sacrifice comes out next week in NA dude. Demo is out now.
Vita will be able to remote play all ps4 games but very, very few ps3 games.

the vita can play many ps3 games... you just need a cfw ps3

also it seems like vita will suit you more, judging by your previous thread and your attitude towards nintendo

If you get the 3DS there is a **** load of games I could recommend you: (keep in mind these are just some that I like)

Games I recommend:

Kid Icarus Uprising
Super Mario 3D Land
Shinobi
Rhythm Thief & The Emperor's Treasure
Theatrhythm: Final Fantasy
Rayman Origins
Fire Emblem Awakening
Resident Evil Revelations
Resident Evil The Mercinaries 3D
Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance
CRUSH3D: Another Dimension
Nintendogs+Cats
Super Monkey Ball 3D
Dead or Alive Dimensions
Animal Crossing New Leaf
Pokemon X/Y
Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed
Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon
Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate
Castlevania Lords of Shadow
Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask
Brain Age: Concentration Training
Donkey Kong Returns 3D
LEGO City: The Chase Begins
Animal Crossing New Leaf

Games I don't recommend: (I don't at least like)
Ocarina Of Time 3D
Mario Kart 7
New Super Mario Bros 2

a lot of these should cost under $20 dollars now.

I am starting to build up a backlog for the first time in forever due to over 100 hours so far on Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, that game alone has been worth owning a Nintendo system.

Hardware doesn't really matter when it comes to consoles and handhelds. You should base you decision on the libraries of said systems. Frankly, the Vita doesn't have much going for it while the 3DS has a pretty big library of good games for it with more coming.

Why would you go on this board expecting an unbiased answer.

My opinion: if you like fps', get Vita. Otherwise, 3DS trumps Vita in every other category in terms of game numbers and quality.
