CONFIRMATION: Nintendo are still going to E3 2013 this year, new presentation

At E3 this year, we are not planning to launch new hardware, and our main activity at E3 will be to announce and have people experience our software. Many people are certainly very interested in learning more about the Wii U titles that we are going to announce. We will use E3 as an ideal opportunity to talk in detail mainly about the Wii U titles that we are going to launch this year, and we also plan to make it possible for visitors to try the games immediately. As a brand new challenge, we are working to establish a new presentation style for E3.

There. Does that clear it up for people who were confusing "giving up"=/=different presentation style?

*sigh* Honestly.

Don't bother. Most people's line of thinking is incredibly asinine.
I have always hoped for a BERSERK Final Fantasy Game to be made realized.

Why did people think that Nintendo will be completely absent from E3 this year?
I always rush here to tell GameFAQs my problems!

Focus on software? Praise the lord!

When they make a new console they obviously have to do everything they can to explain and promote it to the world, but for a gamer that already knows he'll eventually buy the next console, hardware talk is boring and software is where it's at.

So they're not going to E3 at all and are going completely out of business?

Wow at all these threads. It's like people have completely lost their ability to process simple language.
Currently playing: Tales of the Abyss (3DS version), Pushmo, Zelda: Link's Awakening
Rainbow Dash is best pony. Fact.

As long as we get more localization announcements, I'm happy. Still waiting on Fantasy Life, Layton X Ace Attorney, and Dragon Quest VII.

Their "direct" shows are much better than the one big show pre E3 anyways. Direct can be done many times a year, and can be done under a controlled environment. Having that show at the kodak theater was a waste of time and money. The direct show does the same thing, and cost them next to nothing.

They would show hardware and games that may or may not be demo'd properly and in turn, puts fans and consumers off. With direct, they can make sure all systems and games are showed in a controlled way and in the best possible light.

Last years E3 pre show sucked, and then within a few weeks they killed with their direct show. No reason to stick to this old method of presentation. Times they are a' changing!

I just posted a topic about this on the Wii U board. As usual, the 3DS board is the one you have to go to for sanity.
