So why's it cool to like Majora's Mask now?

I don't remember people thinking this was one of the best Zelda's before. Did everyone start to fall in love with it cause the stupid memes and creepypasta?

MM has been generally well-regarded since 2004 at least.

I never liked it, the time limit on each day was irritating.
I still like LTTP more, I dunno why it has nothing to do with graphics just that it was... fun

Because it's an absolutely phenomenal game with the greatest town in video game history, an incredible 3-day system that allows for more elaborate sidequests and character development, good storytelling, an almost un-describable atmosphere, the Stone Tower Temple (which is up there for the title of best Zelda dungeon of all time), mature and in-depth themes that were never seen in a 1st party Nintendo game before it, and the sheer amount of content. No game after it has been able to replicate the experience Majora's Mask provided (Square Enix seem to be going for it with Lightning Returns, but I doubt that's going to be special if its predecessors are anything to go by).

I could go on and on about why Majora's Mask is one of the greatest, if not the greatest game ever created, but I won't bother.

Sounds about right. As for why the game has become more popular over the years, this is my take from a few years ago:
