I haven't owned my XL for that long, but I already got scratches to the top screen, exactly where the sides of the bottom screen are. I did get screen protectors right from the get go, but still, is it still a common fault or just mine?

I haven't gotten scratches or marks on mine yet (had it for almost a month.) Have you put anything heavy on the system? It probably compressed the rubber bumpers.

It happens to me too. Luckily, I also have screen protectors, so it doesn't bother me.

But according to most people, I must beat my XL with a hammer every day, because there's no other way this could happen. And they'd be right.

I have a regular 3DS and I keep the transparent thingy it came with in the box between the screens to keep them from bumping or scratching.

Screen scratching is still an issue.

I have screen protectors.

And a silicone case that keeps the screens apart when the system is closed. It's pretty convenient, and solves the problem. You can find them on Amazon.

For me the bumpers on the XL are doing their job.

I've had the Cosmo black original since launch, kept a thin cloth between the screens and not a single scratch. I've had a blue xl since launch with nothing between the screens and not a single scratch. Had the pikachu xl since launch and also no scratches. Do you guys sit on your 3ds?

That's a good idea. Going to do the same when my unit arrives.

Nope, never. I treat it as well as I can and it's always in its hard-cover case when I don't use it.
