It needs to simply take elements and simple story structure from the games, put it's own spin on the tale
Well, I guess that worked with the Marvel movies...but...
It didn't work for the Mortal Kombat movies, the street fighter movies, the Max Payne movie... --- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=43C2aBKMqeA

I don't know if this counts, but Castlevania: Hymn of Blood is a fan-made live action series based on the Belmont Family. --- "Do you want to know the secret of my panties?" - Trucy Wright 3DS FC: 4940-5431-3793 mii: Greg

I thought Van Helsing was supposed to be the Castlevania movie. It had a good deal of the bosses from the first game, and Dracula was the main antagonist.
Ah, Castlevania has the Dracula theme. Van Helsing is based on that as well. Many of the creatures are pretty common in the mythology...
Anyhow, I think most CV's 'could' make a good movie. But I don't think they will ever make a good CV movie, if they ever make one. I think Portrait of Ruin isn't good movie material though, but all of the other Metroidvania's are and most, if not all of the classics. --- Read the mania: http://www.fanfiction.net/~nonexistinghero In SA2, it's Super Sonic and Hyper Shadow.

I like the idea of combining Lament and Dracula's Curse.
Curse should be the main movie, but they can use flashbacks of Lament for back story.
As much as I like the Lords of Shadow subseries, it doesn't seem like it would make a good movie, do to the fact that it is already very movie-ish. --- Join our bearded nation , our bearded population, our bearded operation. Its not an invitation, it is an expectation.

Symphony of the Night offers a good balance of story and action, not to mention it's one of the most popular Castlevania games in the franchise... --- Official Matt Engarde of GameFAQs/Metatron of the SMTIV board. "Hold on a sec. I'm gonna consult myself, OK?"

Dracula's Curse was being considered for a movie, if that means anything to you. --- I will rule the world, and find that truly good cup of coffee.
