Any downsides to getting an old model 3DS?

I've got a friend wanting to sell his red 3DS for 90 bucks, my question is are there any downsides to the old models when compared to the XL other than the obvious?

No he took excellent care of it, he just upgraded to an XL. Well aside from the size difference if there isn't anything to worry out, I may have to splurge and buy it.

Make sure it has screen protectors as the bottom screen border/frame sometimes leaves marks in the top screen.

It's arguably less comfy to hold. Comes with 2gb sd card instead of 4, but easy upgrade. Hinges don't seem to be as good, but this varies randomly. Some old 3ds like mine have a good amount of play in the hinge (even brand new), but all the 3ds xl's seem to have none. Xl has 2 position clicks in the hinge, regular has only 1. Old version speakers sound better to me. That's really about it.
