Trading in my 3DS for an XL at GS.

What would I have to pay out of pocket?

Just curious if it's worth it.

In a different topic TC said GS was offering $50 for the regular 3DS, assuming no discounted price/sale price on XL, $150+tax .

$50? I know GS is known for being a total rip off but that's advanced ripoff!

Thats GS for ya, I'd recommend Craigslist, I bet you can at least get double if not even a little bit more.

I would avoid trading anything to GS unless you have no other alternatives; they usually have the poorest returns out all of the avenues that I have utilized when doing the aforementioned trading.

Aside from the obvious Craigslist, Ebay, and Amazon, try seeking out a local Mom and Pop store. I have one nearby and they not only gave me a better trade in value for my games, they allowed for a little bit of negotiation on their offered price.
