megaman zero collection or yoshi's island ds

I love the Megaman Zero series. Beat the crap out of em on the GBA, but I'm so used to the button layout for that system that it feels a bit odd on the DS. Specifically speaking, the shoot and jump buttons. If anyone knows a way to make them Y and B instead of B and A, it would help tremendously.

well you can remap the controls in the zero collection. go to the control menu then tap on the touch screen and it lets you change them. i made jump B and shoot Y .

BUT i'm actually returning the game because the screen does this weird thing near the top black bar during some boss fights . its sort of a flicker or something from not fitting the screen or something i assume. it's very annoying and not worth it to me . shame cuz i wanted to play these but i'll wait til a VC release or i can get the original games or emulate or something.

You have a surprising amount of customizability when it comes to the controls, considering they didn't truly integrate the X & Y buttons to the interface. I've got it so that it's similar to the SNES MMX games - dash is A, jump is B, shoot is Y, and X switches weapons (I don't really use the shoulder buttons).

But that's a shame about that visual glitch. Maybe blow the system/cart a little first or something. In any case, is it really bad enough to warrant getting rid of the game?

to me it is. i just can't justify spending money on a flawed product even though the games seem great. just discovered they had a final fantasy iv remake for ds that i can find for the same price so i'll get that instead for now. but one day i shall experience mega man zero.

for anyone else interested, first place i noticed it was the 2nd mission -retrieval or something like that. at the boss in the upper part of the screen it causes a flickering similar to how some cable channels do when modified to fit widescreen resolutions. i'm assuming it's caused by the way it was ported from GBA rather than made specifically for the 3ds or even ds .

^update - i looked up youtube videos of the boss "maha ganesharriff" and it happens to every video i've seen of it.. so i guess it must just be part of the game for whatever reason. i feel silly now :P perhaps i'll just keep it and get ff iv as well

The fact that you even FOUND a Zero Collection is evidence enough you need to buy that instead.

Honestly, I'm glad I got mine when it came out a week after-Mega Man games on the DS don't sell for very long...

I'm guessing you live outside of the US? There are a bunch of copies on Amazon for $17.

go to :10 seconds to see what i'm talking about.. and that video was posted 6 years ago so it was either the original gameboy advance version or an emulator.. it happens whenever he crashes onto the ground. some sort of screen shaking effect ..but it looks more like a visual glitch than an intended effect
