XL pixel density really a problem?

Thought about getting a XL or original but I keep hearing people say the screen on the original is better...then again others say it sucks because it's too tiny and they have to really squint their eyes to see the details anyway

the complaints on the XL is, they just stretched the low resolution to a 90% bigger screen so some have said they really don't like it.

edit: the price doesn't matter to me,and thanks for any help :3 :)

Same resolution, different DPI I believe. The XL brings out more jagged edges on average but the widened screen estate is well worth it.

Nah. Regular 3DS people are just butthurt about having to spend another hundred dollars for JUST bigger screen, and don't want 3DSXL users to have the satisfaction of waiting long enough for a 3DS model with a bigger screen.

Hardly.

To answer TC's question, yes, it can be a real problem for some people. My aging eyes are getting very, very fussy and can't tolerate the XL's screen resolution. It doesn't seem to bother most people, but it *can* be a problem for some.

ah so you can't tolerate the regular 3ds screen resolution either then?

For most games it isn't a problem. Only issue I've noticed is games like Luigi's Mansion in 3D where the jaggies are more present, but if you aren't looking for them specifically you won't notice it.

For me its not a problem since i can hold the XL much further and see the game clearly than the regular 3DS. The speakers of the XL is more of an issue for me.

Actual pixel density is not a problem. It was a problem on DSi XL, but it seems they've found a way to make the picture smoother on the larger screen.

Resolution however isn't the greatest, as you would naturally expect a bigger resolution with a bigger screen. Or at least I did upgrading from a regular 3DS. If you're a newcomer it probably won't be as much of an issue.

how do you turn this on?
