Isn't Pikmin actually an RTS game? I've heard it described as such. Never played it though.

Almost.

The primary genres they're missing are real time strategy and shooters.

I mean, there's Star Fox, S&P, and Kid Icarus, but those are all rail shooters. They need one good shooter at least.

And no, MP does not count.
Still waiting for Diddy Kong Racing 2

They've mastered being greedy without being obvious. Capcom and Enix can learn a thing or two from Nintendo

Pikmin is a RTS though. Especially the WiiU version coming out where you can control multiple units of pikmin from the gamepad, ala Starcraft.

I don't get why MP doesn't count, could someone explain it to me?

As far as I'm concerned, Atlus is the only company to truly master the RPG.

I wouldn't say that Nintendo has 'mastered' the sports genre, but with EA being the big name here, there's not much competition.

Fighter and Simulation genres are interesting because they are represented by one series, yet that one series almost seems enough to give them such a title.

I could care less about FPSs but how is MP not an FPS? I'm uninterested in them all the same.
Can't wait for: Persona 5, Pikmin 3, SSB4, Dubs of P3 Movies
Currently playing: P3P, P4A, FE:A,
