Is it at all possible to be able to transfer my brother's downloaded content...

from the SD card to his 3DS? We traded in his old one for a purple one, but I can't get his downloaded games onto the system.

Wait..you traded in his older system before transferring? Pretty sure you need both systems to do a transfer.

Like Kurikaza said, without the original system you cannot do a transfer. It is all stored on the system. Normally places like GameStop will allow you to buy a new 3DS new, take it home, do the transfer (you need a WiFi connection to do it) and bring the old one in for money back. That is how two of my friends did their upgrades.

Yea, your brother is out of a lot of games now. Only a call to nintendo can maybe solve the problem.
