How come nintendo stopped using the stylus in almost 3ds games when they fell so much in love with it for the ds? I mean it was quite a successful system for them so why change the formula in so many games?

Because the DS's main gimmick was the touch screen, the 3DS's Gimmick was the 3D screen.

well games like dragon quest 9 used the bottom screen so you could use touch controls.. obviously now games have to use the top screen for the 3d effect... and therefor cant use the touch screen

I can't believe the amount of whining that goes on about the controls in PH and ST. Did they make the games unplayable to you? Well, it's your own psychological fault, because they work perfectly fine. In fact, they allow you to control Link and the items with a degree of precision that would be impossible to replicate with traditional controls.
Had a Street Fighter signature for four years, but Crapcom doesn't deserve such recognition anymore.

Sorry, I wasn't aware Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks played out like Link's Crossbow Training.

It would have helped if the games were well-designed outside of the controls. But they aren't, so that just compounds the problem.
