Let's assume the singular screen is high definition, 3D and touch screen.

Honestly at times things put on one of the two screens could easily just be a menu.

Wouldn't matter at all to me. Backwards compatibility would be gone, so Nintendo would have to release next gen pokemon at launch or else they would have a first year worse than the 3DS's.

I am not an early adopter. If your system is as awesome as you say it is, it will still be in stores when the games I want are out.

2 screens are better than one.. it is so much more efficient to put maps/menus on one and gameplay on the other. i couldnt go back to one screen. but i could live without touch screen and 3d.

I don't really care about how many screens does it has, as lons as its playable, enoyable and has a great library of games it'll be a sell to me ;)

Normally, I wouldn't care, but 2 screens are needed for BC with DS and 3DS.

ever since the ds came out, I really can't imagine nintendo handhelds ever really going back to 1 screen. A less cluttered hud is awesome, plus in racing games I love glancing down and seeing who's behind me, or just checking the map to see what turns are coming up.

No to one screen if you are talking about consoles like the Vita, I'm perfectly happy with 2 screens, because it makes the device compact.

However, they should really look into Samsung's (and some other Japan companies') foldable screen technology. That way, you can potentially have one screen that can be folded up, looking like 2 screens when needed and one that you can turn sideways and enjoy cutscenes in wide-screen viewing.

Sure, I'm fine with it as long as it's presented well.

There is the issue of backwards compatibility, but I don't get rid of my older systems very often so it wouldn't bother me. I only got rid of my DSi XL because the 3DS plays DS games.

Sure, I'm fine with that. I have the 3DS for 3DS and DS anyways. Plus it's not that useful a lot of the time one screen is just used for like two things, a big waste.
