I keep hearing how it's one of the series's best, but also about how bad it is from purists. What exactly is so different from past titles that purists look down on the game? Just curious because my order is backordered so far.

Miriel isn't popular enough.

Clowns always drooling over Lucina who's just as boring as her dad.

Its not bad but after playing for 30 hours I don't feel like finishing the game so something went wrong there. I think the main issue is don't play on normal mode, you will go OCD mode since you have so much money so you will try to maximize character potential by reclassing and grinding. On harder difficulties you can't do that cause u don't have the money. You will most likely focus on a grounp of characters instead of trying to marry and pair up everyone with partners and then get galeforce and stuff on the children like I am trying to do.

It stripped away a few things the GBA games had (fog of war, status ailments, Devil weapons, etc.), but then again the main Fire Emblem "formula" has remain unchanged and the specifics are mostly what have changed in the series over the years, even way back when the series was going through the Famicon/Super Famicon, so I can't really fault it for not having everything the older games had considering how much more it brings to the table.

I get that way all the time with game, just move on and come back later to enjoy it. Most recently happened with me and VLR.

Would hard mode be a good place to start if I play Advance Wars? The demo wasn't too hard on hard, does it get way more difficult later?
