My initial lineup consists of:

Starfox 64
Ocarina of Time
FIre Emblem: Awakening
Layton: Miracle Mask

Playing the 64 remakes has made me nostalgic for some Mario Bros. action. I owned & enjoyed Luigi's Mansion on the Gamecube, and I've pretty much loved all of the 3d Mario iterations, save maybe Sunshine. I think it's pretty much a tossup between Mario 3d Land and Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon. Both seem to have great word of mouth and largely very positive reviews. I'm also considering Etrian Odyssey, but I'm thinking one of the Mario games will balance out the initial library a bit better.

Another question I had: I keep hearing bad things about buying digital? Is this a bad move if I don't plan on reselling anything? I'm assuming if my system dies, I will be able to link the purchases to a new account after verifying with Nintendo or something?

Thanks in advance!

3D Land was my favorite game on the console...

Until I got Luigis Mansion.

Buy LM.

Do it.

Do it now.

LM.

3D Land gets bland and boring too fast...not to say the design isn't solid; it's just dissapointingly easy and feels flat...

3D Land is a much better pick up and play game. Easy controls, doesn't use every button on the 3DS, fun in short bursts.

LM is great, but the levels are too long (IMO) for a portable game. And while the controls are fine, if I don't play it for awhile it takes me time to remember what everything does.

I think I will eventually end up picking up 3d Land, maybe at a reduced or used price down the line..there's just such an influx of seemingly 'must have' games out & still-to-come this year that it makes it really hard to make a firm decision on what's the next thing to add to the collection.

3D Land is better, but LM is still good.
