I'm completely torn over what I should buy next for my 3DS. I want a complete departure from what I normally buy, but also a highly polished product, so this led me to the two Mario games. Honestly I'll probably buy both but this will decide which I get first.

Super Mario 3D Land is the more polished game, but Mario Kart 7 will give you a lot more play time due to its online mode.
I still picked 3D Land though.

SM3DL is my favorite Mario game since Mario 64, so... Yes, it's pretty easy for anybody who's good at 3d platformers but it's still amazing and in many ways is what a 3d Mario should be (both as in polygons and the 3d effects).

MK7 is great as well, awesome graphics and it's the normal super-fun MK gameplay. However, it's hard to support a game that strips away so much content from the last version...

MK7 is a very lazy game, that IMO adds nothing worthwhile to the franchise. The DS game was much better.

3D Land was epic(although a tad easy at times), and is one of the best games in the Mario series hands down.

Both are great, but get Mario Kart for the replay value.

3D Land: Extremely polished. A tad bit on the easy side if you use the raccoon suit all the time. Genius level design that is very fun for replaying. Otherwise, it takes about 20 hours to 100% the game and you'll never touch it again.

MK7: Much more replay value, online play.

I recommend getting 3D Land if you are looking for a very original game. And especially if you're the type of gamer who replays games for fun after 100%, simply because you enjoy them so much.

Otherwise, you may be better off with MK7.

Can't go wrong with either though.

In SA2, it's Super Sonic and Hyper Shadow.

MK7 isn't average. It's a really fun game.

Best looking, great controls, good music, really solid track selection, decent to good retro tracks, character selection is good not great.

Online multiplayer.........battle mode

There is a lot to do in this game and it's all fun.

Possibly the best MK game I've ever played, but I haven't played them all so maybe that is why I feel this way.

Grew up playing MK SNES / MK64, I've tried MK DD and didn't like it and I own MK 7 now and Love it.

It has arguably the best track selection out of any game when you count all 32 tracks.

It's also my favorite since Mario 64. It really bring back a bit of that magic that Sunshine and Galaxy failed to provide.

I still have no idea what people see in 3D Land. I found it to be astoundingly generic and phoned-in.

MK7 has more replay value due to online and I found it more enjoyable regardless. I recommend that.
