They make a good point though.

I disagree. I think that whole post was garbage and they are doing their fans a disservice by not releasing the game. Companies need to stop pandering to mothers who don't even play the games and who can't understand what a big "M" means on the back of the box.

Sexualization of 15 year olds? How can you disagree with that? When statutory rape is 16 and under, this game is essentially bordering on child pornography. I'm not in favor of it either as I would love to play this game and see what the hoopla is all about, but I do understand the terrible backlash they would undoubtedly receive. If the characters were 17 or older, I'm sure Xseed would have no problem localizing the game.

You guys are incredibly dense. Without going into a philosophy lesson I will demonstrate how they can avoid that problem. When they translate it all the 15 year olds are suddenly 17. Satisfied?

And to the guy talking about a digital release. Parental controls.

Ooh, brilliant! Have you suggested this to XSEED yet? Should they change anything else?

Way to show some balls big guy!

NINTENDO has more balls than you now! NINTENDO with their loli you can marry and have two daughters with!

Ever considered taking a look at yourself in the mirror when NINTENDO has more balls than you?

I don't understand why they can't localize this if they're claiming Corpse Party is worse.

Just claim every character in the game is 18. Problem solved.

Anyway, XSeed is a trash company these days so I'm not shocked. No doubt Ys Celceta will be the last thing of any value that they release.

Haha. We are dense? Right. And you don't think people won't get wind of how characters in the US version are magically 17+ when in the Japanese version, the creators and developers themselves have them at 15? That'll create an even bigger media storm than straight up localizing it as is. I can see the headline already:

"Video game publisher trying to avoid child pornography by listing 15 year old children as 17, 18 etc."

That obviously won't work at all.

Face it. Child pornography is *illegal* in the US. Anything that even breathes around the subject is going to get flagged, point blank.

Hey, most companies want M rated games. As those are the games that sell to little children. And there are lots of those.

They're fictional characters, they don't have a "true" age.

You realize that DOA has done this with every release.

EVERY. RELEASE. INCLUDING DOAX2.

Who's the dense one here? There is nothing stopping them from a digital release other than made-up excuses (although it would have to have one helluva demo for me to even consider buying a retail-priced game digitally).

I gotta agree, you guys are dense. This are fictional anime characters. Their age is whatever you're told they are, it's completely arbitrary and there are hundreds of examples of this. Besides, they did the exact same thing with Dead or Alive and there was never any media storm there.

Let me reiterate, these are FICTIONAL CHARACTERS. Their ages, birthdays, blood type, social security numbers, favorite foods, and any sort of other information you could have about them is arbitrary. They could say the're ageless 200 something year olds that found the fountain of youth, and who is to say differently?

And again, anime does this all the time and much worse, yet it gets localized. Hell, even in the original post the guy says he's going to be picking up the english versions of the manga. Why are the people localizing the manga not scared of this 'media storm'? Same characters, same artwork, same everything.
