Worth picking up a 3DS if I have no interest in the typical Nintendo games?

After playing FE:A, I would honestly say that I would buy a system just for it, and nothing else.
So yes, there are also lots of other good non-nintendo games on this system.

This. I bought the 3DS purely for Fire Emblem and never looked back.

Kid Icarus Uprising is also good, its not your typical Nintendo game.

I'll answer that question with a solid YES.

Not even close. You'd be far better off with a Vita if Nintendo isn't your deal. There really aren't many good third party 3DS games, and there are often superior ports or alternatives on the Vita. What the 3DS has going for it is Nintendo itself, the rest is just sort of filler.

I will end you solely for your insolence.

Yup, youre in the same boat as i am.

The only two Nintendo related series i have interest in is Fire Emblem (one of the reasons i got the 3ds) and Metroid, which seems to have been forgotten. Mario, DK, Pokemon, all stuff i have no interest in.

Currently have

Devil Survivor Overclocked
Fire Emblem Awakening
Harvest Moon Tales of Two Towns
Kingdom Hearts 3D
Code of Princess
Liberation Maiden
Crimson Shroud
Cave Story
Rhythm Thief

And theres quite a few more interesting things in its way such as SMT4, Bravely Default and Project X Zones. So yes, i would say its worth it for people who have no interest in the basic Nintendo games.... then again, im the kind of person whos capable of getting one system for 1 game and think its worth it, so maybe im biased.

Keep in mind that the 3DS is region locked thou.

Decided to just say screw it and picked up a 3DS XL and Fire Emblem for $150. Figured that I could just resell it for a little less if it's not for me.

Thanks for the responses.
