3DS Quick question

Is it possible to recover my games on a new 3DS if my previous one gets broken? I'm planning on buying a 3DS and this is my only concern since I am a digital fan so I like to be able to recover my games I bought. All responses are appreciated :)

Maybe this will help shed some light?

Video games are bad for you? That's what they said about rock n' roll.

Okay. Well, I just read on this board that you can't get any digitally purchased games recovered if your 3DS is stolen is broken. Sadly, they haven't implemented the NNID yet. Or any account service for that matter.

Sorry :\

That's a bummer, makes me think twice before buying it. Well thanks for the response!

No problem man, although they are going to implement the new NNID maybe somewhere this year. Read that on NintendoLife. So, you may have lost your games. But don't let that bad experience keep you from so many other great experiences :)

Stolen you might be out of luck, though some people have had success getting Nintendo to transfer their account.

If your 3ds is broken, on the other hand, you can always send it in to Nintendo. Even if it's completely broken beyond repair you still get to keep all of your digital purchases. Worst case scenario, your warranty is expired so you need to pay a fee (though it's still cheaper than buying a new one)
