Concerning Nintendo's next handheld

I wonder if they will step away from 3D, and move on to something else.

Do you think they will step away from 3D?

Do you mind not having BC in the next handheld?

I could see 3DS games being BC.

Lack of BC I wouldn't mind, personally. Heck, I still have my original Game Boy somewhere.

As for 3D, well, it's neat and all but lack of it wouldn't be a deal breaker.

The next handheld should absolutely be backward compatible. In fact, from this point forward, all systems should have backward compatibility.

No thanks, I would rather have my systems be cheap than backwards compatible.

Nintendo has always done both. And the competition has always done exactly the opposite

3ds uses an arms chip right i believe they make more powerful versions of the chips in the 3ds,
So unless nintendo changes the architecture we well most likely have BC.

Maybe not for consoles, but it's true for handhelds. GBC played GB games, GBA played GBC games, DS played GBA games (excepts the DSi systems), 3DS plays DS games. Nintendo does understand the value of BC, so there's no way the next handheld won't be able to play 3DS games. Whether or not those games will be 3D or not, that's a different story.
