So, i had a 3ds since launch, and around christmas someone pick pocketed it from me. Fair enough I shoulda been more careful I guess.

So i get a new XL, and for no reason it turns off even though its fully charged. So I send it off to nintendo and they fix it.

Flash forward 4 months, and its turning off again for no reason. Whats worse is I lost 2 days worth of Animal Crossing gameplay.

Are nintendo not capable of fixing it the first time? Why am I so unlucky. I wanna just get them to send me a new 3DS to be honest instead of fixing this one cause its screwed.

How does the system turning off lose you 2 days of AC?

Two days total
I played the game for a day, put it in sleep mode and it happened then.

So i started again, played it for a bit, and it just happened mid game this time.
So ive lost 2 days, they just happen to be the first day over and over.

I guess I could save every 5 minutes JUST incase it happens but thats no way to play the game really.

None of this is nintendo's fault. Save and take care of your things.

Protips for pickpocket protection.

1. Look like a antisocial ruffian with a hand in your pocket, always holding your valuables.

2. Use a bag. Not a backpack, like, a waist-high satchel. Never put valuables in your pockets, unless tactic 1 is in use.

so its my fault my 3DS keeps turning off randomly?
No, its nintendos fault for manufacturing a faulty 3DS and repairing incorrectly.
So im supposed to save constantly because im in constant fear that it could turn off at anytime, thats not how to play a game.

You are supposed to save constantly anyways. If you don't save your game BY CHOICE, then there's absolutely no reason for you to complain to us about the decisions you're willfully making.

We don't know what happened in those 4 months since being repaired. It COULD be your fault it's happening again. Let's not rule it out.

Call nintendo and explain the situation, see what they'll do for you.

That said, it IS your fault you don't save more. You said you played it all day. In the hours upon hours you played you couldn't hit start and hit "save and continue?"

Either you broke something or the unit is damaged in a way that can't be repaired. It should still be under warranty so you can just get it replaced.
