I heard something about a problem involving the most recent system update. It will likely be restored eventually.

I hope it's an issue and will be fixed because I just bought my xl today and was looking forward to trying it. Then I couldn't find it and figured they just removed it for good.

I've had the demo on my system for awhile, and got curious as to what this supposed issue was. Started the game up...got greeted with the "An error has occurred" message. And when I restarted, it had still taken a use off of the launch count.

Good reason to pull the demo, methinks.

Apparently the latest patch was to stop Flash cards, but I guess they accidentally pulled it.

Most likely, the exploit involved the Fire Emblem Demo. I wouldn't expect it to return if it is indeed true, but it could return if Nintendo can fix the exploit.

Either that, or the demo is coded in such a way that it does not pass whatever piracy check Nintendo put in place.

the update was designed to stop a flash cart that's not even out yet!

the company releasing it has time to work on a workaround before release

people who pirate know better than to system update

only "legitimate" customers are impacted

There was an exploit in the demo
