Index civil rehabilitation application, the main creditor is found

Index owns Atlas, which makes a lot of 3DS games, so the fate of Atlus is tied to the fate of the 3DS.

Anyway, stolen from here:

I don't fully understand this, but from what I DO understand, these are the candidates for who gets Atlas. Nintendo is on there. So is Sega and Gree.

On 12/02/12 I said I wouldn't change this until something impossible happened. Now, Earthbound is coming to the US.

What you understand is wrong.
Atlus and parts of index will be stripped off/liquidated until the debts have been paid off(The sale of these companies/assets will be used to pay off the debts, not the companies themselves).
But, Nintendo is the very most likeliest to end up with Atlus anyways. Sony can't afford it...which is pretty much the only other considerable candidate, as well as Nintendo having a personal stake in Atlus.

I wonder how the announcement of that will be received.

If Devil Survivor 2: Break Record's localization is announced before the end of the year, I will be super happy. Of course, Atlus/index have to get out of their current predicament first.

With their history of censorship in the west, I don't think Nintendo would be the ideal company to own games like SMT...

Noooo! Not Nintendo. They're region-locking, localization-denying kill-joys.
