Because there's no point? Because most of the old games have been remade anyway?

For a few reasons I think.
The trading capability would be strange, they'd have to add a totally new feature to what we would assume was an untouched emulation.

Pokemon already has remakes for the virtual console-friendly titles. Their comes a point when even Nintendo realizes they're pushing the rehash a little too hard.

And finally, the games may already be ready to be ported, but Nintendo is saving them for an "In case of the über draught" scenario.

But I would really like to see Pokemon Pinball on the VC. Like, really badly.

To be fair the originals are a little different in the remakes with how they play/the battle mechanics/fun level of brokeness/not being associated with the worst gen of all 5 gens (3rd).

You mean how the remakes fix all the glaring problems and general crappiness of the 1st gen games?

It fixes all the problems sure, but the first has its broken charm. The third generation is by far the worst and I stand by that. I will absolutely admit that it's a superior game to the originals and they fix and add on to the originals so much so that yes, they are irrelevant. However, there is still a charm of having critical hits be tied with speed, bug type being super effective against poison type, having missingno., the sprites looking bizzare - some ugly while some looking pretty bad ass, not having to deal with rock smash to get Mewtwo (all you really need is surf since you can bypass most of the areas that require strength).

Basically the first games still have that unpolished niche role for single player dick arounds.
