I wholeheartedly recommend Etrian Odyssey IV: Legends of the Titan

Get it if you like:

-RPGs that aren't boring
-Dungeon crawlers
-Extremely addictive gameplay
-Fantastic customization, both in customizing your party to your liking, and equipment
-Amazing soundtracks
-Lengthy adventures
-Immersive atmosphere
-Various difficulty settings so you can enjoy the game regardless of your skill level
-Great post games
-The fact that only a few of the characters look like ten year-olds in revealing outfits, and that you thankfully aren't required to use them

Don't get it if you dislike:

First person RPGs (I was the same until I played it though, and now I'm fine with it)
3D effects that seriously hurt your eyes (Turn off the 3D)
Brutal difficulty (Play on Casual)

In conclusion, you should definitely get this game if you haven't already. :D

I bought it a few days ago, playing Etrain Odyssey II right now. Dat backlog!

Uncharted wasn't even made by Sony. Why use that as an example when we're talking about first party games? - talesfan215

Yeah tell me about it. Need to finish Ni no kuni, xenoblade chronicles and fire emblem before getting another rpg really... but I'll probably end up buying this anyway and adding to my backlog.

We're gonna have to disagree on the boring part.

Agreed. Very good game, with total focus on the core gameplay.

but how will you live without your heart?

You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become a villain. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CfDtJvYrFD4

Don't play on Casual. :/ I'm a newbie to the series, and have never played a dungeon crawler before. The regular difficulty is fun, rewarding, and requires some actual thought as opposed to most other JRPGs.

Apart from that, I completely agree!

I had taken this to heart, and so my heart I would never show.

I played it on Casual because I wanted it to be more relaxing, and I found the difficulty to be perfect for me. Most RPGs I've played require little thought, and even on Casual I had to think in battles. I got Mario & Luigi: Dream Team before Etrian Odyssey IV, and its simpleness bored me to death. I then got EOIV, and even on Casual it was an extremely satisfying challenge.
