Your favorite JRPG of all time and why

Your favorite doesn't have to be the "best of all time". It can be the one that had the biggest impact on you for your own reasons.

Topic # 5930222392.

None the less, Tales of Symphonia.
It impacted me the most as what I would consider a perfect game and the best out of the Tales Of series.

Tales of Hearts DS is my personal favorite, because the battle system was amazingly fun, the visuals of the game oozed charm, the cast was good, and the story was decent by Tales standards.

I'd say Chrono Trigger is the objective best. It's probably the one and only game I can say is truly timeless, and I honestly can't think of any real flaws in it at all.

Xenogears. It goes where few video games dare to go.

Final Fantasy IV

From the characters to the music, the setting to the battle system. It's simple compared to many other similar games, but to me it remains the best.

Lost Odyssey for the XBOX 360, it's the only game ive had to stop playing cause it was so depressing, if a game can do that to me then they've won my vote, plus the music and story was amazing(even if it was a tad confusing, but you got there in the end)

Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne

The battle system is engaging, demanding, fair, fun, and just overall phenomenal. The game has an immaculate sense of atmosphere and a top tier videogame soundtrack. It hasn't visually aged a day. The narrative is sparse and perfect. The demon recruitment/fusion mechanics are both super rewarding for those who grasp them and wonderful to just wing it with and look for a nice surprise. In terms of impact its had on me, it kickstarted my current obsession I'm nursing with all things Shin Megami Tensei (Persona 3 is my second-favorite and basically the equal of this game, though a little lesser in my mind) and began truly cementing a feeling I've been having since both the Trauma Center series and Catherine wowed me and were among my favorite games: that Atlus is one of my favorite developers and probably my favorite company in the industry.

Skies of Arcadia. Made me care for the world and characters like no other game, and this despite the fact that it doesn't focus on either nearly as deeply as any Tales game. It's so simple, man. And so beautiful. *_*

Had a Street Fighter signature for four years, but Crapcom doesn't deserve such recognition anymore.
