Zero Escape should be the choice for everything in life.

Is it just me? I find it literally impossible to play DK on the 3DS with that choppy frame rate. I honestly thought the game had some kind of problem until I saw the butter smooth wii version. If you end up choosing DK, please check both versions at a store before deciding... and get the wii version.

EDIT:
Found an youtube video showing this.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wYrjmpEytwg

slowing down the video to 1/4th speed isn't a fair comparison. 30 fps is enough imo.. though anything less than 30 starts to become a problem. comparing 7 fps to 15 fps isn't fair because it is a much bigger deal at those low framerates. also, no offense but it doesn't sound like you're making up your own mind. .you're even quoting the video exact by saying the butter smooth wii version.. it sounds like you're just quoting what he says and taking his word for it. if you honestly think the 30 fps is gamebreaking to you then fine, but i don't think it's anywhere close to being an issue and personally can't understand how someone would think so. a lot of great games are locked at 30 fps and no one complains about those. (oot remake for instance)

the controls however ARE a legitimate gameplay issue for the wii version, and they are fixed with the 3ds version

You should play 999 before VLR though. VLR spoils a lot from 999.

If you buy Virtue's Last Reward, do not save in the PEC room. I think in any puzzle room if you can. Otherwise you might lose your save.

I have 999 and Zero escape but still haven't played them yet(shocking yes I know) but they are praised a lot for what they are.

As for donkey kong it has been a fun game but I will probably trade it in soon. Never noticed any of the frame rate issues people talk about.

VLR is 15 dollars cheaper, its a great game. But DKC is also a good game. IMO VLR is the choice to go and allowing you to have money afterward.

Very true I really want to play zero escape but also want to play DK since I only played it once on wii is there anything new in the 3DS version? Sucks to only have to pick one I wish I could get both but I'm leaning more towards Zero Escape I think I might just get that one for now. Still thinking on it lol

PLAY 999 BEFORE YOU PLAY VLR! PLEEEEEEASE!

Don't own 999 but really want to get my hands in it also. So then I should wait till I get 999 before I start zero escape? If I do I have to wait till sometime next month before I can buy a copy.

First things first, 'Zero Escape' is the name of the series. 999 is, also, Zero Escape.

These games are to be played in order, so either get a copy of 999 or watch a full playthrough on Youtube. I can offer optimal route suggestions if you'd like. After you finish 999, then play VLR. It is the sequel, and its twists rely on 999 for both context and magnitude. You can enjoy VLR in a limited fashion without 999, but it assumes you've played the first game.

Go to Gamestop, buy a Steam card, and use it to purchase Ys Origin. You won't be disappointed.

YES! Wait til you get 999 otherwise you'll be in for some massive spoilers in Virtue's Last Reward that you wished you found out by playing 999 instead. And don't worry, no matter how long it takes for you to buy the copy, it'll be worth it, trust me.
