I was almost out of space on my 32GB SD Card.

I think I had about 33,000+ blocks left. Considering Pokémon X and Pokémon Y, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies, The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, and more coming soon, I decided to get a 64GB SD Card now instead of later when I run out of space. This is actually my first time using a card with such massive storage. It's a Transcend 64GB UHS-1 300x SDXC Card.

After formatting the card to FAT32 on my Mac and transferring everything to the card, I have 270,000+ blocks left minus the Rhythm Thief & the Emperor's Treasure game I'm currently downloading.

Anyone else use 64GB or higher cards with their 3DSes? What are your experiences with them?

Bump!

I am curious too... I didn't even know you could use so much space even after formatting?

I was under the impression the 3DS capped at 32GB. This is relevant to my interests as I recently started doing more digital purchases.

Same boat with TC. I have a 32gb sd card and I have 49,890 blocks left. I still have Pokemon, Hometown Story, Zelda to download later this year. And still planning to go digital with Mario Kart 7, Street Fighter IV, and the recently released Rhythm Thief on the eshop. Need more space...

Wow, it's hard to fill that much space without any unified account going for nintendo... XD

Anyway here's the solution: you CAN use even 64GB cards so long you format'em to FAT32, I suggest the program "EaseUS Partition Master", easy to use and free too, I did so with my 64 GB card.

So far so good! The only thing I noticed is it's slower than my red 32GB Transcend Card but not by much. Games load, play, and save perfectly fine.

First thing I did when I got my 3DS XL was to put in a 64GB SD. I've got 381000 blocks free, and I'm loving that most if the games I'm currently playing are on my system without me having to carry around a bunch of carts.

If Tales of the Abyss were available on the eshop, I wouldn't even have a cartridge in my system at the moment.

I've had no problems with Transcend on my 3DS. 8GB, 32GB, and now 64GB.
