Why are we still having this discussion? Nintendo is planning on giving us a proper account system possibly this year.

People really need to stop feigning ignorance to this already.

Because Nintendo's response of "one of these days" or "maybe this year if we feel like it" to almost every major, necessary advancement to their business/consoles/games hasn't been acceptable for a very long time.

Retrieving games on Steam isn't some kind of bureaucratic nightmare. Just download the client, download the games and you're set. Same deal for the App Store and Google Play. It's 2013, Nintendo needs a better solution than this.

This only proves that until we get an actual account system, physical downloads are superior to digital.

Why are people saying it is all Nintendo's fault if you lost or got something stolen? If the physical carts where with the system and they got stolen? Do you demand your stuff from Nintendo or what?

ITP: A summation of an argument no one has ever used.

Nintendo is responsible for lost digital content because they have the ability and know-how to make sure it doesn't get lost. Every one of its competitors does this - Hell, Nintendo's main console right now does this. At what point is Nintendo responsible for choosing to be a dinosaur?
