Question about system transfers

Can I have two 3DS (2DS) systems with the same digital data on them if I transfer to a new system? I'm wanting to use my 3DS as my portable system for travel and I want the 2DS for when I'm at home since it's much larger. I own several digital games including 3DS titles and virtual console games which is why I'm asking.

No, that's the point of a system transfer: the new system essentially becomes the old system.

You can not have the same data on two systems. If you perform a transfer, the old system gets wiped, and everything is permanently installed on the new system.
