Will I like A Link Between Worlds if the only Zelda game I beat is OOT?

I don't have ADD or anything like that, and I can play the same game for several hundred hours if its set up that way, but Zelda games have been a drag for me to play, especially on the 3DS. I'm having unfond memories of the repetitiveness of Phantom Hourglass, and it was so bad I didn't dare try Spirit Tracks.

I guess my problem with the Zelda series in general is the non-linearity of the dungeons, requiring a lot of time-consuming exploring that makes me want to play something else. I enjoy a good exploration in games like Skyrim or Assassin's Creed, but those reward exploration, in Zelda I just get a key so I can open the door to the boss at the beginning of the dungeon -_-

The game is very concise and I'd say the dungeons are a lot more straight-forward than OoT. Give it a shot.

And "exploration" in Assassin's Creed, lol...

ALBW is a much faster game and the dungeons take roughly 30 minutes in comparison with the 1/1.5 hours of OOT.

so yes try it!

Ooh, short dungeons me gusta.

Phantom Hourglass's dungeons were nice too, weren't overly complex and can be done in one or two sittings.

Hey (look) listen, I was in the same position as you. The only Zelda game I beat prior to Link Between Worlds was Ocarina of Time, the remake for 3DS. Regardless of being a Nintendo fan I was never on the Zelda scene, but A Link Between Worlds has changed that. Now I want to play every Zelda game under the sun.

I'm not a big Zelda fan in general, but I absolutely love ALBW. It's making want to go back and play all of the 2D Zelda games (as, to be honest, I'm not big on the 3D or the DS ones).

So yeah, try it out!

That's good to hear.

Don't get me wrong, I've tried playing Twilight Princess/Skyward Sword, too. Just not enough to keep me going.

I was on a Zelda high from 2003-2004 until they delayed Twilight Princess and I never recovered

A Link Between Worlds is a game you're going to remember for a long time wether you're an casual or hardcore Zelda fan. Osfala, Irene the Witch, Ravio, you get more and more attached with the cast the further you progress and once you get to that ending, it gets you in the feels.

Is the playstyle similar to the DS Zeldas, straight up 2D Zeldas, or something else?
