So I just reached Platinum status, and a slew of questions comes to my head:

1 - Should you decide to spend the coins, are you dethroned from Platinum status (i.e. spending 150 coins automatically puts you on Gold status)?

2 - Let's say you still need to reach Gold/Platinum status, but you decide to spend coins anyhow. Do you have to spend more coins now to make up for those spent coins?

3 - If you have any leftover coins as the deadline draws near, what happens to them should it pass?

There's probably more, but those are the biggest priority, at least from my eyes.

1) No, once you reach Gold/Plat you stay Gold/Plat regardless of how many coins you exchange for goodies.

2) I don't understand.

3) Coins expire every 2? years. Check your coin status in your account menu to check.

If I'm understanding 2 right, no, you don't need to make up for spent coins. You can spend your coins whenever and still reach platinum as long as the total earned over the course of the year was at least 600.

Thanks for the answers guys. Now all I have to do is wait and see if there are any rewards that I'd like.

Coins can roll over for 2 CN years.

Elite status is based on a given CN year (Ending like June 30th) and points are never deducted until the CN end of year when it's set back to zero.

If you already have platinum for this CN year, save your codes until later. I usually save for 2-3 years to get platinum once :P

Off topic. But what benefits are rewarded with gold and plat status? I just recently hit gold and couldn't find anything about it..

300 gold, 600 platinum

At the end of the CN year (It ends June 30....but the prizes are announced a bit later) you get an option of prizes...sometimes they're good, sometimes they're not. :P

This year was:

Here are just a few of this year’s Elite Gold Status gift selections:

- Super Mario Land
- The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening DX
- Sakura Samurai: Art of the Sword

If you reached Platinum Status with 600 Coins, you have two more options:

- Three-poster set featuring The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD
- The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask Original Soundtrack, a 112-track, two-disc set

Thank you! Those are pretty decent. I should hit plat before June 30.

Yeah....well the options for the 2014 year will be totally different. It's random chance if you'll like the platinum rewards or not each year. (And sucks if you used enough for platinum but would rather end up with a gold reward)
