Nintendo handhelds

Ok, so from what i gathered.

The gameboy was a portable nes.
The GBA was a portable SNES.
The DS Was a portable N64.
The 3DS is a portable GC(barely powerful enough for it tho)

So, i figured, in two generations, say 12 years at least, maybe less.
We will have a handheld that can(barely) run Wii U type graphics.

Are you excited? Wat are your thoughts about this (obvious) discovery???

The DS was more powerful than the N64 and the 3DS is at least on par with the Wii and it's a fact that it has better shaders and lighting engine (than the Wii).

Had a Street Fighter signature for four years, but Crapcom doesn't deserve such recognition anymore.

Sorry, but theres no way the 3DS Could play most games on the wii.
Look at tales of abyss, a ps2 game.
It had to downgrade the graphics to be able to run on the 3ds.
And the DS Could barely top the N64 graphics wise.

The Wii U Gamepad is basically proof of what you're predicting. It's basically a large version of a future handheld, I hope anyway.

And look at Monster Hunter Tri U, a Wii game with more stuff and better framerate.

Aren't the graphics on Tales of the Abyss the same? If they look downgraded to you it's just because of the lower resolution of the 3DS screens, or maybe the devs were lazy. OTOH, it has PS3 ports that look great, such as Super Street Fighter IV, E.X. Troopers and Resident Evil Revelations (also on Wii U). Incidentally all Capcom, but whatever.

EDIT: That's right, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate was also an improvement over Wii's 3 Tri and that is also on Wii U. And still Capcom, maybe they're just pretty good with the hardware, lol.

A game that isnt graphically impressive as the wii, and is missing MP.

Try xenoblade or even last story on the 3ds, it wouldnt be possible for an exact copy.

Sphinx and the cursed mummy, one of the GCs most graphically stunning games, couldnt be possible.
This isnt a debate, its been said time and again that the 3ds isnt as powerful as a wii.
It can play a few games, if they are linear and such and still look great, as mentioned Re R.
But a big open environment made with wiis power would not work without some sort of downgrade.

Now, the 3ds hasnt really been graphically tested by many games, so who knows if the 3DS can show all its power and actually be in the wiis graphical lead.

But for now, all its managed was GC graphics

Its been said by the devs of tales that they had to reduce a few things, obviously stuff you pay attention to remains the same such as character models etc etc, but the environments and items in the world are less detailed, its usually the stuff you wouldnt notice, like a cup missing from a table and such
