Well a serious question it has a better price, better price memory (Hell even Nintendo SD cards are cheaper) and a pretty damn impressive library of games

For joke post it has Jill's ass in 3D

Library of games
the 3ds proprietary crap isnt as glaring.......the price tag on those Vita memory cards...man smh..

just because weve already spent the money on the handheld and games doesnt mean were cheap or entitled for holding out on other things.
Im fine with spending on "me" stuff....but that doesnt mean I cant be smart about it. Nowadays you cant really burn cash like that....hell, just look at those idiots who won the big lottery in range of hundreds of millions......spending and managing money like that....back to square one and minimum wage.

Memory prices… Any brand for cheap prices whereas with the other guys, you NEED to pay their prices with THEIR name on it.

Backwards compatibility… Pop in and play any DS game whereas with the Vita, you need to re-purchase games you might have already owned, which takes space on their over priced proprietary memory cards.

An more certain, bright future… Does Sony even know what they want to do with the Vita? Seems like they're planning on turning the Vita into an PS4 peripheral via remote play, whereas the 3DS exclusive support will continue in full force, as it's own system.

Consistent game releases… Last year we got Zelda ALBW, Pokemon X&Y, Fire Emblem Awakening, Luigi's Mansion DM, AC New Leaf, Monster Hunter 3U, M&L Dream Team, Shin Megami Tensei IV, Project X Zone, etc. This year we're getting Smash Bros, Bravely Default, Layton vs Wright, Layton 6, Kirby Triple Deluxe, Yoshi's New Island, Mario Golf World Tour, etc

More support from the company… Refer to this ^ see all those exclusive first party titles?

More localizations… Nintendo's localization team kicks ass. Bravely Default, SMT IV, Layton vs Wright, Project X Zone, Etrian Odyssey IV and Untold, Rune Factory 4, OP Romance Dawn, etc all got localizations in short time, specifically after Iwata announced his plan to bring over more Japanese games. There are still main Vita games yet to get localized, meaning you'd need to pay extra to import.

Interesting. So cost is the main factor?
While I agree, I would say the Vita hasn't mastered the touchscreen yet nor its game selection.
Once it does...that Freedom Wars is going to bowl over Attack on Titan.
And then a 7th Dragon iteration will come out on the 3DS and not the Vita since future got covered by the PSP's 2020 and trump back lol.
Every gaming platform will thrive because it gets their own devs and exclusive games due to devs also having their preferences. Not to mention the style.
Thankfully neither the 3DS nor Vita can be counted as DOA (dead on arrival). They've got potential.

Well of course you can't count the 3DS as Dead on Arrival, it's making the number one sales charts for all consoles

Haven't seen Naughty Dog, the main Santa Monica team, Sucker Punch, or Polyphony Digital put out any Vita exclusive games. Meanwhile the EAD teams, Intelligent Systems, and HAL have been putting out 3DS exclusive variations for main franchises.

Sure the Vita has potential but so did the GameGear. The 3DS is the highest selling system and producing quality games on an daily basis. Why would you lump that with the Vita regarding potential? The Vita has been out for two years and look where it's currently at, potential can only get you so far.
