Who else would be upset if the next DS dropped Streetpass functionality?

I would. Streetpass to me is one of my favorite features for the system. I realize it doesn't work well for people who live in the middle of nowhere, but I live in the suburbs and get a solid 3-5 random passes from strangers per week, and even more from friends on a regular basis too.

I definitely would not be happy if the dropped StreetPass. I absolutely love the feature, it gives incentive to bring your system around with you.

No.

In fact, I would celebrate it. Streetpass only works well if you're in a high populated area, which is great for people living in NYC, Tokyo, or similar areas. But for many people, they don't have that option, which means they end up missing out on some rather enjoyable features of a lot of games.

I'd only be okay with them keeping the system if they set up a way to get Street Passes over the internet. Right now it's a waste of space for many people.

That will never happen, so long as Nintendo remains a Japanese company.
Japan is the primary market, and streetpass sort of things work great in Japan.

I wouldn't be that upset, but if the next system is backwards compatible it would kind of suck being unable to use features in certain 3DS games.

That's hasn't been true for months. With the street pass relay, it's waaaay easier. I basically live in a backwater town and I still get like 6-12 street passes when I go out ever since they implemented the relay centers.

I hope they take the idea and refine it even more.
