When I put game cartridges onto my 3DS..

Do the files automatically download onto my 3DS so I don't really need to use the cartridge anymore?

It would be a pain to carry cartridges and keep on switching them in and out.

No, they do not. My advice is to just buy digitally.

No. It's not a PC. You must keep the cart you wish to play in the system, and switch it out when you wish to play something different, unless you download the digital versions.
What systems are you using where you don't need to keep the media in the gaming device?

Become numb to the pain of switching.

I actually like carrying around a card case with a bunch of games in it.

Blizzard.

Usually when my Warcraft 3 disc wouldn't work.. All I needed was my CD-Key and I digitally downloaded from their website.

The Nvida Shield? If I recall right that thing just streams games from your PC to a mini-screen/controller
