Bravely Default Chapter 5 is great. Who is smearing this game again?

Chapter 5 is fantastic. Surprising. Challenging. Head-scratching. Check, check, check. Yet I've never seen such a concerted effort to smear the good name of an amazing title based on one section of a game. Maybe people are upset they had to finally start using some strategy in the tougher battles?

Or is it just the ponies? We already established they are bitter over not getting this game on a Sony device:

They've also been known to port-beg for it on the Vita board:

Trying to crack this mystery. Please assist, thank you.

It's the "repetition". The people complaining don't seem to care about the story implications that the repeats bring. They also seem to have never ever played another game where they fight the same character model in a different situation.
The game is not without faults, however.
The huge one to me, the one that seems to be overlooked by almost everyone who complains about chapters 5-7 is that refighting the bosses and especially some of the optional bosses reveals plot points. Those points get thrown out the window in the eighth chapter, as though they never happened.
That's the part that made me exclaim "Why would they even do it like that!"

Of course, I think at this point, it's kind of a dead horse. Decomposing and smelling up the place, even. The maggots have already hatched and flown off.

Chapter 5 didn't really bother me, since it was more surprising and it was the first time it happened. It was only when I got to Chapter 6 and I realized I had to do the same thing again (and then quickly googled it, thinking something was wrong, only to similarly realize that I would have to also repeat the same thing in Chapters 7 and 8, too) that I wanted to throw my 3DS out the window, haha.

However, despite this, I actually really did enjoy the game and still recommend it - after all, I put in about 70 or so hours of awesome gameplay before the whole wanting-to-throw-my-3DS-out-the-window thing, lol.

I'd rather do it the way BD did than have to deal with simple palette-swaps...
My Colecovision is probably older than you...

I think the second part of the game makes it good, otherwise it would just be a generic RPG.

I think most of the "smearing" comes from people who have good taste.

Airy had to help re-awaken the same 4 crystals millions of times, so you all can quit yer whining. ;)
Some of my favorite memories of Final Fantasy were with Link and his Pikachu.

People are just reacting to the concept of it. There's nothing wrong with playing through it.
I will rule the world, and find that truly good cup of coffee.

I think a lot of people are just aping what others have said without even having gotten to chapter 5. In fact, I remember someone admitting it:

"Don't play Bravely Default. It gets horrible in the second half of the game. Oh, by the way, I haven't played it, that's just what I hear people keep saying."
