Drag Tuning

#1bladester15Posted 12/15/2011 4:34:46 PM
k, so im trying to beat my bro's AE86 in a quarter mile drag, which he did in 11.245 seconds. but I just can't seem to get the tuning down. I've tried quite a few different cars, and the one I did the best with was a lotus elise, which I got a time of 11.3. Any tips on getting a good tuning setup for this race?

sry, I forgot to mention that I have to use RWD and the PI has to be 600 or under.

Does that car get the supra engine swap? If so use that. As far as settings goes use a rather long first gear and long second and short 2-5/6.

no, the AE86 still has the stock engine in it. And I dont really want to use an AE86 to beat an AE86 since I'm basically trying to proove that the AE86 isnt an extremely awesome car.

If PI is a limit, don't add any upgrades that are going to increase handling or braking by much. Add a TON of hp, tires, etc and don't do weight reduction unless thats the only thing left. Sure weight reduction will help you accelerate, but it raises your PI too much because it helps handling and braking which you don't care about in a drag race.

Also, mid/rear engine cars are going to dominate because they can get a good launch.
