I know you need to register two battlefield games in order to reach veteran status.

Can you purchase Battlefield: 1943 from the game marketplace and get veteran status?

yes thats how i got my veteran status you need to purchase it and play one online match then go to the website and refresh your status

You can also make a soldier on Heroes and get that added, without even playing.
