What blade is the somewhat staff most similar to?

You don`t need both SCS and DCS. SCS has better synergy with your very quick charge time and Bumblebee so you can trade the DCS+4 mod for either SH+3 or FHB+6 or even both if you use OD-4.

Regarding powers, Bumblebee is the best one followed closely by Energy Charge because of their great synergy. The last power is a tougher choice between Quick Charge (this is what I use) and Lightweight. Quick Charge is better on open stages where you can shoot all of your opponents without needing to approach them while Lightweight is better for closed stages where you have to walk a lot to find your opponents.

I'm also considering using effect duration instead of one of the charged shots as a possible goal. (probably DCS)

Effect duration isn`t really worth it in this case because it will only work with your least useful power (Lightweight or Quick Charge). Energy Charge has unlimited duration and if you manage to keep your Bumblebee intact long enough for it to run out (90s) then your opponents are probably so bad that you won`t even need it.

Effect duration is only worth it on weapons that heavily rely on their powers to be effective like Eyetrack Orbitars and Slipshot.

For Powers, it will probably be.

Energy Charge lv1 (with OD-4, I'm basically going to get killed by most attacks if I get hit anyway)

and whatever other useful powers I can fit into the grid (of the listed powers, I only have the lightweight4 atm, so I can't actually test the layout containing all 3)
It's probably going to be almost the opposite of my goal for a Thanatos Staff

That's what I use on my Somewhat Staff w/ Quick charge instead of Lightweight. It's amazing. :]

After using a somewhat staff I already had which conveniently had shot range +3 along with bumblebee(lv3, it's the highest lv one I have atm), energy charge (lv4, it's all I had) and quick charge lv4, I've decided, that I will use quick charge instead of lightweight. Even without any walking speed modifiers, I didn't have much mobility trouble, so with walk speed +4, that shouldn't be a problem at all :)
Now the only problem is how to actually make this very specific weapon...
