Please do not write mean stuff about ORC because it still did a good job on changing the play style. --- Nintendo 3ds FC:0387-8987-9193 XboxGamertag:BlackPanter720 |
andodelPosted 3/23/2012 1:15:03 PM | It's not that ORC's a bad game, its that its not an actual Resident Evil game. Revelations goes back more to the original game. On top of this, ORC does have some nasty bugs, as well as a wretched AI, which kills the single player. --- 3DS FC= 0774-4348-2965 PM me with your FC if you want to be friends. |
DropOut_NW260Posted 3/23/2012 1:16:34 PM | RE:R did better than ORC because honestly ORC is a bad game. From reviews to personal testimonials from the 3 people i know that got it, the overall view of the game is negative. The direction Capcom took RE in ORC was NOT what people want. Blame the 3rd person/tactical/FPS type gameplay or blame the lack of interesting characters, its not good. It could also be the fact that its a SIDE story game. Its not like RE 0/1/2/3/CV/4/5/R which are MAIN story games. |
NumberManEXPosted 3/23/2012 1:26:44 PM | I dunno because I am completely tor between ORC and RER (lol) |
VegetaDPosted 3/23/2012 7:39:36 PM | Well for starters Revelations is a main series game while ORC is a spin off. I liked them both but Revelations for me has a much more engaging story, gameplay, and replay value. |
pencruPosted 3/23/2012 8:07:56 PM | I think ORC got panned for its finnicky controls (I remember the cover system) and the bad AI. It's their first attempt at a TPS after all; hopefully they get better at it or focus on what they're good at. |
LtRickGreyPosted 3/23/2012 11:03:39 PM | As someone who has owned and beaten both i can say this much. RE:R tends to get more sales for the fans who seem to be of the belief that if it's got the same ol theme its good.
Op Raccoon has a lot of unecessary and unwarnted bias against it. And i'd argue its more resident evil then 4 or 5. It's an incredibly fun game to boot. With revelations i found myself just waiting to play raid mode. The story was only a means to an end. Especially with how predictable it was. |

...and you'd make yourself look like a complete fool in the process. --- My old account got better. |
LtRickGreyPosted 3/23/2012 11:13:23 PM | Oh? how's that? Direct umbrella involvement? Proper B.O.Ws? No go ahead, tell me what makes this such a non resident evil game.
Lotta you folks need to lighten up and learn to enjoy things, otherwise you may as well just stop playing video games in a lengthening series. Hell i recall a bunch of people raging about the gameplay change for mgs4. And ya know it? It was better. In every way. So the community lost the 4% of people who cried about being able to ACTUALLY MOVE EFFICIENTLY in metal gear. The rest of us loved it.
It'll be the same for ORC. |

So what your saying is that if I made an FPS starring mario and bowser, it would be just as popular as the classic platformer? If you don't get what I'm trying to say: It's the fact that the gameplay is nothing like the first couple of RE games. That's why many fans hate it, as well as 4/5, because its missing the horror and puzzles the older games had. I personally think ORC could be an ok game, however as I said its plagued by crappy AI and bugs. --- 3DS FC= 0774-4348-2965 PM me with your FC if you want to be friends. |
