Ideas for Kingdom Hearts IV?

#1Whats_Up4444Posted 2/5/2013 8:59:55 PM
Obviously will be in roman numerals.

Look at KH2? It's in roman numerals.

I'm honestly stumped.

I want a young new Keyblade Wielder to show that light can be bad, but not evil.

Kinda like in Pokemon BW. N was evil and good at the same time. From what I read anyways.

And come on, you guys can derail at least after the first page. >_>

Its commonly known on Gamefaqs that if anything is more evident than proven facts, its personal opinions.

I honestly lost interest in KH 3 itself and want more KH in general.

Like that 1.5 Remix.

And lets not forget BBS Volume 2! That hasn't been mentioned in awhile.

Man. KH3 isn't that important guys. Just another game.

Its the climax, sure. But KH4 will have the next story. That's what I want.

Reboot.

At the end of Kingdom Hearts III, the World is reset using the power of Kingdom Hearts. In this brand-new World, the Keyblade War never happened, and Xehanort never existed at all. The Realm of Light is stable, at peace, and completely connected. If Jack Skellington wants to go and say hi to Pooh Bear, then f*** it, he can do it.

No one remembers the old World at all -- because technically, it never existed. History has been completely rewritten. Only MDG, SRK, RAX, Namine, and TAV remember the way things used to be. Roxas, Namine, and XIon are their own people now, and as far as anyone's concerned, they always have been; in the new World, they have their own families, their own homes, their own lives at long last. Everything is happy. Everything is good.

Until the new villain shows up. Someone completely new, not tied to the current games at all. Unlike the Xehanorts, he should be actively malevolent and personally involved. The Xehanorts had their grand plans and only dealt with Sora because he interfered, but this guy should be actively malevolent and personally involved. He should want to make Sora suffer specifically. A very intimate relationship.

The Heartless, I think, will still be the biggest recurring enemies. They're too iconic and evocative to lose. Nobodies can show up, too, but Unversed and Dream Eaters should be left behind, and new species can replace them. No replicas this time around. No duplicate characters at all, hopefully. And no more "Sora, Riku, and Kairi are separated" plots. We need to develop them as a unit, as a team, as a real trio of their own, although of course Donald and Goofy will still be huge partners, too.

Moving away from all this light and darkness stuff. A heartless is made when darkness consumes the heart? Sure. But don't go on long meaningless rants about the nature of light and darkness.

On that note, give Riku some other facet of his character to develop. He doesn't need to learn for a forth time that darkness isn't necessarily evil, and AnsemSoD better not show up again.

Similarly, no "light isn't necessarily good" plot. It's just a color-flipped, and often poorly written and contrived, version of what we've already seen. I actually think the subtlety that they used to express it through Eraqus was excellent, no need to beat a dead horse.

So yeah, no more using light and darkness as symbols. As forces, yeah, that's inevitable, but we've already pulled more meaning out of them than there actually is.

This I can easily go with.

The reset seems like a middle finger but I want to see the worlds as one too.

Everyone being their own person, yes.

No more clones.

I can get behind look a likes. And I mean Tidus and Roxas look-alike. Not Ventus and Roxas ones.

Getting things done on time instead of drawing out the arc.

Yeah, people are bound to see it that way, but I see it as a necessary evil if the series is going to keep going. We're facing pretty steep continuity lockout as it is right now, and it's only going to get worse unless we do something.

I did try to make it as painless as possible, though, by keeping the core characters' memories intact, following up on some long-running themes (Roxas and co. getting to be their own people, mainly), and bringing some genuinely new and refreshing stuff to the table at the same time (like the merged worlds).

Basically, I want it to be a respectful, constructive reboot, unlike...well, most reboots ever. >_>

Wait, actually I want this now. I didnt realize everyone kept their memories in tact.

As long all the characters keep their Keyblades, except maybe a few I can think of. You know who I mean.

Then I'd say best results really.

Well, the core characters keep their memories. So, all the original heroes, plus Mickey, Donald, and Goofy. The FF peeps and the other Disney characters are a no-go.

And, yeah, everyone definitely keeps their Keyblades.
